CFR has a long history of a commitment to giving back to our local communities through charitable giving, volunteerism and partnerships. We have a growing list of charitable organizations that we support each year, often with our employees spearheading the giving & fundraising efforts. As a company, we believe that community support is more than just annual giving important, it is also fostering a culture of giving back and volunteerism. Below are some examples of partnerships we are most dedicated to:
A belief that the world can be changed by changing public education has led CFR to join the Partners in Education program. Once known as “Adopt-A-School” , this program partners businesses with schools in need to help the school meet not only educational goals, but attendance goals and help the school with items that are outside their budget. Through this program, CFR has partnered with Sequoyah Elementary school for more than 20 years. During this time, Sequoyah has gone from the at-risk schools list to achieving over 93% attendance, higher than the district average. CFR employees volunteer as reading mentors and help all year round by collecting soup labels, Box Tops, toner cartridges, book drives, & collecting coats for students in need.
Each year CFR donates all proceeds raised at the annual CFR Golf Tournament to Seyoyah. In the past, this money has been used to further the education of both students and teachers, provide new playground equipment, purchase a new flag pole and provide supplies that are needed for the teachers and students, and more.
Tulsa Boys’ Home is an organization that provides residential treatment for 64 boys with serious mental health, behavioral, and substance abuse issues. Like our Partner in Education, we provide support year-round through participating in sporting activities with the boys, helping the boys celebrate birthdays with monthly birthday cakes as well as personal birthday cards and gift cards. It is also a holiday tradition for CFR employees to gather funds for purchasing items for TBH as a gift in honor of management.
